Mike Kelly's opponent, Sen. Cliff Aldridge- (R) Midwest City, is the "co-chairman of the Task Force on the Privatization of CompSource Oklahoma." This article from the Oklahoman talks about the answer Aldridge got when he asked what effect privatizing worker's compensation would have on rates for small business, "'Most likely they would see an increase,' said Roy Wood, state relations executive with the National Council on Compensation Insurance." The Republicans want to raise the rates that small businesses pay by privatizing worker's compensation. This is not fair to the men and women in this state who work hard to own their own small business. We should encourage the growth of small business, not force them to cough up more money. They are vital to Oklahoma's economy and raising their rates would be a detriment to both the businesses and the state.
